I thought that girls might like some help picking out the perfect gift. I wanted to help by putting together some ideas that boys would really like. Certainly ones that my boys would appreciate.
First, the idea that you want to give your boyfriend a gift is pretty special in itself. At least he will think so. And if it's obvious that you put some thought into it, he will be blown away by it.
Second, my boys would not expect to get an expensive present. Like I mentioned, the fact that you want to give him anything at all is great - so it really is the thought that counts. Since you are probably young it is more than understandable that you shouldn't worry about spending a lot. My boys would happily accept anything you though they would like. Plus, you don't have to worry about making a guy feel uncomfortable that you spent a lot of money on him. Especially if it is a new relationship - and he may not have a gift for you at this time anyway.
You can think of a generic gift or a personalized one. A generic gift of course would be something like a game, piece of clothing, sunglasses, headphones, etc. By personalized you might think of a tshirt with a name embroidered on it or something you decorate yourself with a name or date or something like that to remember you by.
Movie Gift Cards
Lots of couples like to go to the movies and giving him a pair of movie cards would be a thoughtful way of relieving some of the cost of a date night. After all, young men often don't have a lot of spending money either. If he doesn't really like movies, you could substitute tickets to a sporting event, a concert, or a play. I mentioned movies because they are usually a little more affordable. But you can certainly choose a different type of event.
Skull Candy Headphones

The Skullcandy Subwoofers are worth having too, since they are good quality. What guys doesn't like to enjoy his music with his headphones. In my opinion, picking a set out at the department store may appear a bit second-rate since he may have already seen those. There's more variety online these days.

These may sound silly to you, but boys (and men) love these things! After all, men are never too old to play with toys! My boys give this a thumb's up! What guy doesn't love to control something flying around? And when it is cool looking and they can maneuver it all over and control the speed - it's just a gift destined for success. A Gift of Food
This doesn't have to be difficult at all! A plate of chocolate chip cookies (or whatever his favorite is), a cake, pie, etc. I would recommend homemade, you just really can't replace homemade. Not only will your goodies be fresh, but they will be more personal and guaranteed to melt his heart. Remember the saying "the way to his heart is through his stomach"?
And for those of you who don't feel like they can't whip up something fancy, don't worry. There are a lot of very simple recipes out there that will help you bake something good and tasty.
Sunglasses
While sunglasses may not sound all that personal, think about all the different styles and varieties there are out there. A lot of guys have a favorite type or brand and new shades are always welcome. My oldest son really goes for the wayfarer look and he's a sucker for buying a new pair whenever they catch his eye. If you take the time to notice what your boyfriend seems to like, it shouldn't be too difficult to find him a nice pair. Or you could casually stop by some sunglass racks and see what he gravitates to. I'm betting that he would really appreciate an awesome pair of new sunglasses.
